Job Title: Pharmacist Role

Current pharmacist license (Must be in good standing) Education and/or Experience - B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm D
Responsibilities:
- Individual may not be on the government exclusion lists as determined by the office of Inspector General (OIG) AND System for Award Management (SAM)
- While on duty, ensures that the pharmacy complies with all state and federal laws regulations and rules governing the practice of pharmacy.
- Ensures that all pharmacy records and inventories are maintained in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Remains active and in good standing with all licensing requirements of the governing state board of pharmacy.
- Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients if needed means.
- Receives patient prescriptions by various means: oral, written, fax or electronic, as well as, those transferred from other pharmacies.
- Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
- Directs pharmacy technicians engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Answers questions and provides counseling to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, storage of pharmaceuticals and any other information related to patient care, as deemed appropriate, using own professional judgment.
- While on duty, maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of pharmacy and controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
- Performs drug utilization reviews accurately for all patient records.
- Instructs interns and other pharmacy personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy.

Job Title: Registered Technician
Qualifications:
Individual must have a high school diploma or GED
Individual may not be on the government exclusion lists as determined by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and System for Award Management (SAM)
Responsibilities:
- Maintain highest level of customer relations
- Expedite the processing of prescriptions by performing all duties necessary and allowable, by policy or law, in the preparation necessary prior to the filling of the prescription by the pharmacist and in the distribution of the prescription to the patient, once all necessary dispensing duties are performed by the pharmacist.
- Process all filing, accounting, and book keeping functions as deemed necessary by The pharmacy manager, pharmacist and company accounting manager.
- The primary purpose of the registered pharmacy technician is to expedite the processing of prescriptions.
- The registered pharmacy technician shall retrieve appropriate medication(s) from stock.
- The registered pharmacy technician shall count tablets/capsules or pour liquids in appropriate quantities.
- The registered pharmacy technician shall answer the telephone and direct calls to the pharmacist.
- The registered pharmacy technician shall enter the appropriate information into the computer in order to process electronic third party claims for payment by insurance companies for prescriptions. If the insurance company does not get billed electronically, then the registered pharmacy technician shall gather the necessary billing forms for paper claims to insurance companies for payment of prescriptions.
- The registered pharmacy technician shall accommodate the customers when they arrive at the pharmacy to pick up their prescriptions. This shall entail giving the prescription to the customer, as well as, the necessary cash register transaction for both new and refill prescriptions.
- While on duty, maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of pharmacy and controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Completion and processing of third-party documents.
- Restocking and reordering supplies when necessary.
